At a table we can eat, study, play, have a debate, read, do crafts... and even sign peace treaties. A table has the potential to support powerful scenes around it as in Marina Abramovic's "This is de Artist" performance, the legendary painting The Last Supper or the already iconic picture of the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron on February 2022 in Moscow The project A la mesa! has the objective of accommodating all kinds of picturesque situations. Our table emerges from a neighborhood patio and conquers the street to attract the passer-by. Located between different urban fabric areas in the city of Logroño, it aims to be a meeting point for its communities. The Superior School of Design of La Rioja, the Town Hall square, the Historic Center of Logroño... they all now seem to gravitate around our table. A la mesa! Is conceived to fulfill several functions: · It extends the recreational area that is alive in the neighborhood patio towards Obispo Bustamante street. A compression of the public space is created and the result is an encouragement to take part in Concentrico. · It invites passers-by to enter the interior patio and enjoy an intimate space in the center of the city of Logroño. · Its organic design promotes the development of multiple activities like neighbors gatherings and meals, artistic workshops, meetings, talks and presentations or performances... A la mesa! Is inspired by the form of a flowing liquid. This liquid metaphorically flows from the central fountain inside the patio towards Obispo Bustamante street and invades it. El efímero espectáculo, que dura solamente dos semanas, invita a admirar la belleza de la naturaleza pero también a reflexionar sobre la mortalidad y lo efímero de la vida. La propuesta toma inspiración de la forma en la que el arte japonés del Ukiyo-e se conecta con su alrededor. Una forma de ver, entender y representar el mundo intrínsecamente unida a la cultura japonesa. Esta forma de expresión genera patrones riquísimos, en especial en su representación de la naturaleza. 2D3DSAKURA representa la floración del cerezo en términos técnicos del grabado japonés, desde una perspectiva occidental y llevado a la escultura. multimedia, presenta en la galería Etage Projects, Fluid Crust Surgery, una performance orgánica que se puede seguir en streaming a partir del día 14 de mayo. En la muestra se incluyen 100 objetos, la instalación y un libro con el mismo nombre. Con este proyecto multidisciplinar, Raquel Quevedo hace una reflexión entorno a la deriva de la situación medioambiental actual, el post antropoceno y el arte del Apocalipsis. Propone la extracción de datos como elemento transformador vital. El proyecto en sí, no es ni un principio ni un fin dentro de la obra de la diseñadora, supone la puesta en valor de un momento del proceso. Desde este punto, Raquel obtendrá una base de datos que almacenará y que supondrá el punto de partida para muchos otros proyectos, dando lugar a los resultados más insospechados, en los formatos más variados. El proyecto parte de la premisa de que el ser humano tiene una relación capitalista respecto a la materia (viva o no) y la información. Todo ello justificado por el hecho de que somos seres heterótrofos, incapaces de generar nuestra propia materia orgánica para sobrevivir. Se ha descubierto una babosa llamada comúnmente “esmeralda oriental” que ha evolucionado hasta imitar la función, la forma y el color de una hoja para metabolizar la luz solar. Este híbrido abre un nuevo camino para replantear la supervivencia del ser humano. Estos seres podrían propiciar revolucionarios pensamientos e ideas creativas hacia nuevas formas de relaciones simbióticas de los seres humanos con otros entes, otra forma de relacionarnos con la materia. Así, Raquel Quevedo utiliza la materia como una relación simbiótica entre el ser humano y el objeto. Además, lejos de evitar la práctica capitalista de la extracción, se utiliza la materia hasta sus máximas consecuencias, estirándola en sus múltiples formas, ideas, imágenes y renders. Se construye extrayendo datos del trabajo de sus dimensiones físicas y virtuales y, junto con otros datos generados por las tecnologías digitales, el lenguaje visual y la ciencia. La materia genera más materia en otros contextos de tiempo y espacio que el original. La muestra enfatiza el impacto de las tecnologías digitales en los procesos de creación así como en su posterior percepción. Une los conceptos de ficción vs realidad, virtualidad vs fisicalidad, verdadero vs falso, intuición vs hechos, diseñador vs artista, individuo vs comunidad. Hablo con Raquel Quevedo sobre Fluid Crust Surgery: Miras al futuro, al devenir del mundo, la sociedad, y el ser humano, con una mirada muy peculiar. Se trata de una visión de futuro acoplada al presente y al pasado. Una unión transversal que tiene en cuenta la crisis de significados que estamos actualmente viviendo y la necesidad de replantear el origen, lo que ha llevado a cuestionar conceptos, ideas, esquemas… Mi mirada se dirige tanto a la idea de un mundo sin humanos -en la que hemos causado nuestra propia extinción- como a la de uno dominado por homo sapiens transhumanistas o algoritmos hibridados con humanos. Mi planteamiento podríamos decir que es existencialista y filosófico, artístico y objetual, sin pretender establecer polaridades positivas ni negativas, sino navegando entre las posibilidades. Está claro que el desdoblamiento se puede observar en mi obra en muchos aspectos. Muchos creadores tienden a luchar contra la obviedad de que vivimos en un mundo en el que los materiales contaminantes tienen un papel central. Sin embargo, en tu obra constantemente convives y te sumerges en ellos. Los reciclas y de cada materia base creas un material final extensísimo. De esta forma, creas un discurso y unas imágenes muy potentes. Creo que es una aproximación muy honesta. Es un acercamiento muy honesto a la realidad, intento observarla, experimentando el cambio, y esperando un mensaje desde ese otro lado que no eres tú. ¿Es incertidumbre, es especulativo, es intuitivo, es correlacional? Intento descifrar esta comunicación con lo objetual o matérico sin un principio ni fin a la vista. Trabajo esa dimensión sintiendo la realidad como algo expansivo y mutable, independiente, híbrida; como una información que se comunica consigo misma y nosotros somos el software de un intercambio. En muchas de tus anteriores obras &nbsp;partes de la introspección, parece que desde unas preocupaciones o situaciones más personales. Esta interrogación hacia el exterior es también una hacia el interior. El cambio celular existe para mí desde afuera y desde adentro. Esta aproximación me viene dada por influencia materna; mi madre trabaja desde una perspectiva holística planteando el cambio del cuerpo humano y su salud desde la raíz, mediante técnicas no invasivas ni agresivas como fitoterapia, naturopatía, cromoterapia… y es experta en Iridología. Desde pequeños en mi familia hemos vivido la ecología, la naturaleza, desde una forma muy real y cercana, cuestionando los conceptos de verdadero o falso, real o imaginario, natural o artificial. En tu obra, las disciplinas, los procesos, los medios, los resultados… se mezclan, dando lugar muchas capas de significado y a unos resultados eclécticos, con un estilo muy personal. El proceso no es lineal y seguramente tampoco establecido previamente. Documentas todo el proceso y creas una base de datos que encapsula los diferentes momentos del proceso creativo.¿Cómo funciona tu cabeza en todo este proceso? Trato la creación como algo vivo, híbrido, mutable. De forma natural puedo mezclar muchas técnicas como la fotografía, la pintura o el diseño de letras. Esto me permite entrar en una zona de experimento empírico, esperando lo accidental, lo que te puede llevar a otro lugar. Esta dimensión especulativa es también otra forma de replantear la idea origen y final. Muchas de mis obras las considero “acciones”. El libro no es un recopilatorio de la intervención, sino otra dimensión más del proyecto artístico en conjunto, una nueva capa de significado e interpretación a las acciones que tu realizas. Agentes externos entran a formar, de repente, parte de tu obra. ¿Qué han aportado al proyecto las personas que han colaborado en el libro?¿cómo han cambiado tu obra? El libro muestra la materia como un paisaje de datos de la intersección entre el espacio de la computación (tecnologías digitales), los sistemas culturales (lenguaje visual y ciencia) y el multi-espacio de identidad a través de esculturas, objetos y obras de arte digitales en la era del Antropoceno y el postapocalíptico. La publicación recoge este conjunto de mi obra que he llamado paisajes extractivos en los que las palabras -de colaboradores- emergen del horizonte. El resultado ha sido increíble; desde conversaciones con una inteligencia artificial (William Bagnoli), ficción (Allélon, Regina de Miguel), ensayos (Guillermo Santomà, Alberto Feijóo, Salvatore Peluso, Alba Font), curatoriales (Andreia Filipe) y poesía experimental (Saúl Ibáñez, Martin Sigler). Fluid Crust Surgery es una propuesta muy ecléctica, el perfecto ejemplo de la obra de Raquel Quevedo como creativa. El cuerpo adquiere una dimensión escultórica gracias a la libre utilización de la proporción, el color y la escala, desde una perspectiva naif.
